• Nine-storey apartment building in the center of Athens

In the center of Athens, specifically on Lelas Karagianni Street near Amerikis Square, a residential building of 31 apartments was erected with pilotis, basement and 9 floors above ground, with a total footage of 3,200 m², on a plot of 570 m²
The building is structured in 2 volumes, one facing the street (north) with 7 floors and the second internally towards south side with 9 floors. They are connected between by the central staircase, leaving a distance of 6 meters between them, and forming internal atriums that allow ample ventilation and sunshine.
In this way, the volume of the building is divided, and by retreating from the building line, it is not imposed towards Lelas Karagianni Street.

The morphology of the elements of the main face is handled with simple geometric elements, and with harmonious colour contrasts in which aluminum elements stand out from the main volume. The two coloured volumes are a key element of the architectural configuration, framing two balconies on the 1st and 4th floors. These two volumes are in contrast with the linearity and austerity of the facade, in respect of the overall project. As the building is placed in a recess of 2 meters from the building line, these 2 volumes do not protrude from the plane of the street formed by the neighbouring apartment buildings on either side. In addition, they emphasize the residential character of the building, confirming and enhansing the character of Lelas Karagianni Street as a mild-use street despite its proximity to the main Patision Avenue.

The ground floor of the building is configured as a pilotis, with the entrance to the apartment building, and the rest of the space is available for parking.

The northern part has 7 floors, of which the 6th and 7th floors are configured with recesses (penthouses).
On the 6th floor there are 2 apartments, one of which on the east side is connected by an internal staircase to the 7th floor (maisonette).
